The Man Behind the Camera
The Man Behind the Camera
Asiong32 anniversary post #2
I am anonymous on my blog for two years now. I don’t normally post pictures of me, here on my blog…well, except for my shadows or my back or my side, as long as it doesn’t show my face. Why? coz I don’t want my picture taken. It’s funny coz I love photography and I love taking pictures but I don’t want my picture taken at all. I don’t have a picture of me on my Facebook account either. Why? because I have a lot of insecurities and I used to hate myself a lot. I don’t want my picture taken because there’s a lot of sadness and melancholy in my face and through my eyes and that my depression is consuming me little by little but thanks to this blog that it has served it’s purpose well for two years now. I want to show my face for the very first time after two years of blogging to say thank you and that it may become a symbol of hope for other people like me who is also battling with depression. If you try to back read on my blog, there’s actually more to it than just merely pictures. It’s mostly a collection of feelings, thoughts, struggles and triumphs of a self-confessed manic depressive on his way to recovery and happiness.
"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun." — Chris McCandless
