cabalatian island

CABALATIAN ON MY MIND

after taking pictures of the sunrise somewhere in labrador pangasinan…

…I went straight to the fisherman’s wharf in sual pangasinan to catch the free boat ride going to cabalatian island. cabalatian is like a small island barangay. I heard about this island from my friend joan who grew up in sual.

unfortunately it was too late! by the time I arrived at the wharf, the only boat going to the island had left so I just took pictures of the wharf instead. it was seven in the morning, my digicam’s battery is running low and I was ready to go home until…

“are you going to cabalatian?” a guy asked…I said yes. “there’s another boat going to the island just wait for it.”

…the next thing I know, I got a free boat ride going to the island. the only drawback is that I have to wait until 4 in the afternoon for the boat to fetch us back to the main land but I really don’t care coz I have the whole day to explore the place.

…touchdown! the fishermen said that I have to be here at the docking station at exactly 4pm to catch the boat ride or else ill be spending the night at the island.

I didn’t know that cabalatian island is just in front of sual coal-fired power plant. cool!

the island has many faces and secrets…

…until I reached this area. a fisherman warned me of not going here since I’m all alone and he said that it is haunted. this is where I spend most of my time at the island. I found refuge from this area and I even took a bath naked. at this point, my digicam’s battery is empty but good thing my cellphone is not.

and I was surprised to see a small cave as well. I feel in love with the island and I took the liberty of taking all my clothes off and swam. I have no choice coz I don’t have any extra clothing but it was a lot of fun! I remember taking a bath naked in the middle of the night at mt. tapulao summit in zambales. haha
